Where the KCD2 Rosa Route Starts
Henry first meets Rosa during Via Argentum at Ruthard Palace in Kuttenberg. There is no romance decision to lock in during that first meeting. The practical KCD2 Rosa route begins in main quest 18, Taking French Leave, when the Ruthards help Henry find a secret entrance to Maleshov Fortress. Speak to KCD2 Rosa before leaving the palace. Ask about the book and promise to bring it back. This adds the Rosa's Book task. KCD2 Rosa describes a red book decorated with gold. Do not treat the blue task marker as optional if you want the romance: the next visit to Maleshov is the only reliable opportunity to collect it.
Create a manual save before the infiltration. KCD2 Rosa has two closely spaced missable points, and the game does not clearly warn that a late return can preserve the item task while still losing the writing scene and romance.

KCD2 Rosa Book Location in Maleshov
The KCD2 Rosa book is A Book of Humorous Anecdotes. It is inside the main tower of Maleshov Fortress, on the second floor, in Lady Ofka's room. Look beside the window for the red-and-gold volume. The room is close to the route leading to Hans Capon, so collect the book during the same infiltration.
Lady Ofka can alert the guards. Depending on Henry's skills, you can sneak past her, use dialogue to keep her quiet, or temporarily incapacitate her. Killing her is unnecessary. The only KCD2 Rosa requirement here is leaving Maleshov with the correct KCD2 Rosa book in your inventory.
Read the KCD2 Rosa book before returning it. Reading is not the same as completing the task, but it opens extra discussion about the writing. Once Hans is safe and Taking French Leave ends, travel straight back to Ruthard Palace in Kuttenberg.

Return the KCD2 Rosa Book Immediately
This is the most important KCD2 Rosa warning. Return the book before reporting for the council sequence that leads into The King's Gambit. Players who follow the urgent main marker first often discover that Rosa has moved and the private writing scene is no longer available.
When KCD2 Rosa asks about the book, the first skill-check response only changes how Henry recognizes its author. It does not decide the romance. Accept the writing session, then use this sequence if you want the clearest flattering route:

Other creative answers produce different stories and illustrations; they do not automatically fail the task or romance. The important gates are completing the collaboration, avoiding insulting reactions, and clearly expressing interest. KCD2 Rosa Choice in Dancing with the Devil
The next critical KCD2 Rosa step arrives much later in main quest 23, Dancing with the Devil. Otto von Bergow holds Rosa in the Maleshov tower while Henry's allies debate how to end the standoff.
Do not choose the option that supports torching the tower. For the safest KCD2 Rosa path, choose “Let's make a deal,” attempt any available skill check, then insist that you refuse to put Rosa in danger. Offer to enter the tower and rescue her. Even if the first skill check fails, this branch can still produce the objective to defeat Bergow's men inside.
The important decision is moral, not statistical: do not sacrifice KCD2 Rosa for a faster victory. Clear the tower and make sure she survives. If the KCD2 Rosa romance was already prepared through the book scene, this preserves the path into Oratores.
KCD2 Rosa Romance Scene in Oratores
In main quest 24, Oratores, Henry escorts KCD2 Rosa through a secret passage back to Ruthard Palace. Carry her across the flooded section instead of dropping her into the water, and tell her to be careful when she climbs the ivy. At the palace, defeat the looters and reach Rosa's room.

The kiss is an explicit player choice. Skipping it ends the KCD2 Rosa scene without the romance. If the kiss option does not appear, the usual causes are missing the KCD2 Rosa writing scene, losing too much reputation, or supporting the plan to burn the Maleshov tower.
Can KCD2 Rosa Be Romanced with Katherine or Hans?

Yes. KCD2 Rosa can be completed in the same playthrough as Katherine's route or Hans Capon's route. The late mutually exclusive choice is between Katherine and Hans, because their final scenes occupy the same story window; Rosa's earlier scene does not consume that choice.

After the story moves her away, Rosa is not reliably available as a free-roam companion. Claims about KCD2 Rosa party bonuses, dual-blade abilities, romance perks, special armour sets, or daily affinity farming are false. The concrete gameplay reward for finishing Rosa's Book is access to Rosa as a trainer for Scholarship and Marksmanship, plus the writing-related achievement.
The romance is deliberately bittersweet: Henry and Rosa share affection, but the main game does not resolve their class difference with a wedding or permanent relationship.
